Middlefield to Host Listening Sessions on Dirt Roads
The Town of Middlefield working with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will host two informational listening sessions on the resilience and utility of the dirt roads in Middlefield. One listening session will be held on April 17, 2023 at the Town Hall located at 188 Skyline Trail at 6:30 PM and the other meeting will be held on April 19, 2023, at 12:30 PM at the Middlefield Senior Center located at 169 Skyline Trail. The two sessions are being held as part of a three-town grant received by the Commission to study the condition of dirt roads in the Towns of Blandford, Chester, and Middlefield. The grant will study how climate change is affecting the dirt roads. It will also develop procedures to track the condition of the roads and will develop recommendations that can be used to maintain them in the future. It is hoped that town residents will attend one or both sessions to learn more about the study and to give comments. If you have any questions, Ken Murray of Middlefield is working as the Town Liaison for the grant. He can be reached by email at; dirtroads74143@gmail.com.
